The Trek Procaliber 9.6 Gen 3 is a race-ready cross-country hardtail built around OCLV Mountain Carbon and Trek’s new IsoBow technology, designed for XC enthusiasts and competitive riders who demand speed, efficiency, and trail-smoothing compliance in a single package. Available in the striking Matte Litchen Green/Keswick Green colourway, this third-generation Procaliber represents a thorough rethink of what a modern carbon XC hardtail can do on both the race course and the trail.
The Trek Procaliber 9.6 Gen 3 is built for enthusiast and competitive XC riders who want a lightweight, efficient carbon hardtail that does not sacrifice trail composure for outright rigidity. Whether you are lining up for a timed XC race or pushing your pace on fast singletrack, this bike suits riders who value power transfer on climbs and confident, controlled handling on technical descents.

At the heart of the Trek Procaliber 9.6 Gen 3 is IsoBow, Trek’s carefully engineered frame flex system that replaces the previous IsoSpeed decoupler. The top tube extends past the seat tube and into the seat stays, creating a continuous structure that absorbs vibration and trail chatter without sacrificing the snappy, direct pedalling feel that XC racing demands. Trek’s engineers also incorporated a floating rear brake mount, which allows the seat stays to flex more freely by separating braking forces from the rear triangle flex zone. The result is a hardtail that feels noticeably smoother over rough ground while remaining genuinely fast and responsive when you put power down on climbs or sprint finishes.
The geometry on the Procaliber 9.6 Gen 3 has been updated with modern XC racing in mind. A 67-degree head angle is slacker than most traditional XC hardtails, giving the front end a calmer, more planted feel on descents without making the bike feel sluggish on tight, twisting climbs. Reach has increased across all sizes, giving taller riders a more stretched, aggressive position that pairs well with the 750mm Bontrager Rhythm Comp handlebar. The Bontrager Kovee Comp 25 wheels are tubeless ready out of the box, and the 29×2.40″ Bontrager Sainte-Anne Pro XR tyres offer generous volume and dual-compound grip for mixed terrain from hard-pack to loose, rocky singletrack. Drivetrain reliability is a defining strength of this build. The Shimano SLX M7100 12-speed system delivers precise, consistent shifts across the full 10-51T cassette range, making light work of punchy climbs and long, technical ascents alike. The Shimano XT M8100 rear derailleur sits a tier above the shifter, adding durability and shift accuracy where it matters most under load. Shimano MT500 hydraulic disc brakes provide dependable, modulated stopping power in all conditions. The Bontrager Line Dropper seatpost with MaxFlow internal routing adds genuine trail versatility, letting riders drop quickly into a low position for technical descents and pop back up for efficient climbing without fumbling with an external cable.
