MET Trenta 3K Carbon MIPS Tadej Pogačar Limited Edition Helmet

Elite road, gravel & cross-country performance — worn by a world champion

There are road helmets built for performance, and then there is the MET Trenta 3K Carbon MIPS Tadej Pogačar Limited Edition — a helmet that exists at the intersection of cutting-edge engineering and visual artistry that belongs on the head of a world champion. This is the most ventilated road helmet MET has ever built, wrapped in an all-over iridescent finish that shifts with movement and light in a way that simply has to be seen in person.

Five reasons this helmet leads the field

3K
Carbon Airframe
Replaces EPS foam with a structural carbon wing, creating a continuous, uninterrupted internal air channel unlike anything else in road cycling.
★★★★★
Virginia Tech Safety Rating
40% improvement on the most rigorous independent safety protocol in the industry — one of the best scores ever recorded.
+16%
More airflow
24 open ventilation ports connected by optimised internal channels, refined inside MET’s proprietary in-house wind tunnel, the Tube.
MIPS
Air Node Protection
The ultralight implementation of industry-leading MIPS anti-rotation technology — integrated so precisely it adds virtually no perceivable weight.
360°
Safe-T Orbital Fit
In-mould polycarbonate shell with vertical and occipital adjustment points that accommodate a wide range of head shapes over long hours in the saddle.

The Dream State — the story behind the design

MET describes the concept as the Dream State — superfluidity, the rare psychological and physical condition that the world’s best riders chase through years of training and sacrifice. It is the state where effort fades and speed increases, where the body moves through the air as though friction has been suspended. Translating that concept into design, MET chose an all-over iridescent finish inspired not by the rainbow as a symbol of victory, but as a natural phenomenon — a spectrum that shifts and changes as light catches it, as ethereal and hard to define as the man who inspired it.

Engineering that achieves the impossible

The helmet was tested using aero and thermal cell-equipped headforms inside the Tube — MET’s in-house wind tunnel — capable of analysing both drag and temperature variations simultaneously. This dual analysis is what allowed MET’s engineers to achieve the breakthrough ventilation numbers the Trenta 3K Carbon now delivers.

By removing EPS foam from the internal frame and replacing it with the 3K Carbon Airframe — a carbon fibre wing woven in a 3K weave pattern for optimal strength-to-weight performance — MET created a truly continuous air channel that runs uninterrupted from the front intake vents to the rear exhaust ports. The practical result: consistent, powerful airflow on descents and on climbs, even in hot, still conditions where conventional helmets struggle most.

As reviewed by the team at Bikerumor, MET’s ground-up redesign represents a helmet that is simultaneously safer and better ventilated than its predecessor — a combination manufacturers rarely achieve, since improved safety structures often impede airflow. MET’s solution was to rethink the relationship between structural and ventilation systems from scratch, using the 3K Airframe as both the safety skeleton and the ventilation architecture at once.

The low-profile front vent, positioned between the crown struts and the base of the helmet, is a key addition in the latest generation and one of the most immediately noticeable functional improvements riders report in long-form testing. Read BikeRadar’s best road bike helmets guide here.

Fit that performs across multi-hour efforts

The Safe-T Orbital fit system wraps around the head with 360-degree contact, combining with vertical and occipital adjustment capability to create a genuinely personalised fit. A helmet that sits correctly and stays in place is also more aerodynamically predictable — important at race pace. The Air Lite straps with adjustable dividers complement the retention system by distributing pressure evenly across the cheeks and jaw without the hotspots that often develop in conventional strap systems over long distances.

Sizing & construction

S — 52–56 cm
M — 56–58 cm
L — 58–61 cm
Shell — In-mould polycarbonate
Protection — MIPS Air Node
Vents — 24 open ports

The in-mould construction integrates the outer polycarbonate shell and EPS liner in a single fused process, maintaining structural integrity while keeping weight as low as possible. The Pogačar edition carries the world champion’s distinctive T-shaped logo on the exterior, along with his name inscribed just above the Safe-T Orbital adjustment dial — making this a genuine collector’s piece as much as a performance tool.

Limited editions of this nature, tied to an active world champion at the peak of his powers, are not produced indefinitely. Riders who want the MET Trenta 3K Carbon MIPS Tadej Pogačar Limited Edition for their next race or big sportive should not hesitate.

The benchmark for what a modern road cycling helmet can achieve — safer, cooler, lighter, and more visually striking than almost anything else available, worn by the most dominant cyclist of his generation. If you want to ride in the same lid that Tadej Pogačar races in, finished in a collector’s-edition design as unique as the rider himself, this is where the search ends.
